More Than a Bridge
The Rainbow Bridge is a place of remembrance, reflection, and hope.
Created by the Rainbow Bridge Ministry of Zion United Methodist Church, it offers a peaceful place where anyone can honor the life of a beloved companion animal and find comfort in knowing they do not have to grieve alone.
The bridge itself is a symbol. Just as a bridge connects two places, we hope this bridge connects people with cherished memories, with compassionate hearts, and with the hope that love never truly ends.
Visitors are invited to walk across the bridge, spend time in quiet reflection, and, if they wish, place their companion's collar on the bridge rails as a lasting tribute to a life that was deeply loved.
A Place for Everyone
Although our ministry is rooted in Christ's love and compassion, the Rainbow Bridge is open to everyone, regardless of faith tradition.
There is no preaching, no expectation, and no obligation.
Only an open invitation to remember, reflect, and know that your grief is welcome here.
A Ministry of Compassion
The Rainbow Bridge Ministry was created to walk alongside people experiencing the loss of a beloved companion animal.
We recognize that the love we share with our companions is deep and meaningful, and that the grief that follows their loss is real. Too often, that grief is misunderstood or minimized. Our ministry exists to offer a place where it is acknowledged with compassion, dignity, and hope.
Our faith in Jesus Christ is what inspires this ministry. We believe Christ calls us to care for those who are suffering by offering a listening ear, a compassionate heart, and the reassurance that no one has to grieve alone.
While our ministry is Christ-centered, it is open to everyone. Whether you have a strong faith, are searching, or have no religious background at all, you are welcome here.

We don't believe grief follows a schedule, and we don't expect everyone to grieve in the same way. Some people may want to talk. Others may prefer to write. Some may simply walk the bridge in quiet reflection.
However you come, you are welcome.

The Rainbow Bridge Ministry offers remembrance services throughout the year to provide families with an opportunity to honor and celebrate the life of a beloved companion animal.
These gatherings are simple, meaningful times of reflection where we remember the love our companions brought into our lives, share stories, offer prayers of thanksgiving, and find comfort in the presence of others who understand this unique journey of grief.
Whether your loss is recent or occurred many years ago, you are welcome to join us.
Individual Remembrance Gatherings
We also understand that grief is deeply personal.
If you would like a quiet, individual time of remembrance at the Rainbow Bridge, we would be honored to work with you to arrange a simple gathering with members of our ministry team or Pastor Phil.
Sometimes all we need is someone to listen as we tell the story of a companion who changed our lives.
About the Rainbow Bridge
The Rainbow Bridge is a place of remembrance and reflection.
Visitors are welcome to place a collar or remembrance tag on the bridge rails in honor of their companion and spend time in quiet reflection.
To preserve the beauty of the bridge and church grounds for all who visit, no cremated remains or other physical remains may be buried or scattered at the Rainbow Bridge or anywhere on church property.
We appreciate your understanding as we strive to maintain this sacred place of remembrance for our entire community.

Blessings of the Pets
Celebrating the Companions Who Bless Our Lives
Each year, on the first Saturday in October at 11:00 a.m., the Rainbow Bridge Ministry invites the community to gather for our Annual Blessing of the Pets at the Rainbow Bridge.
Our Annual Blessing of the Pets is held each October in recognition of the season traditionally associated with St. Francis of Assisi, celebrating God's love for all creation and giving thanks for the gift of our companion animals.
This special service is a time of thanksgiving for the joy, companionship, and unconditional love that animals bring into our lives.
Families are invited to bring their companion animals to receive a blessing and to celebrate the special bond we share with them.
During the service, we also remember the companions who are no longer with us, giving thanks for the love they shared and the lasting imprint they have left on our hearts.
Whether you come with a companion by your side or with cherished memories of one who has crossed the Rainbow Bridge, you are warmly welcome.
